Again, another great rehearsal Tuesday night.
Our newest singer, Bus Hill brought a friend and sang with us. Welcome Dr. David Andrews! David is a retired doctor and lives in Hillsboro. And it’s a small world as one of our members had Dr. Andrews as their Obstetrician for all three of their babies a while back.

We warmed up with O Come all Ye Faithful and Christmas Chopsticks.
Butch led us through a barbershop singing craft lesson of being in performance mode. Always utilizing singer’s position, standing in a “window” and basically always performing for our audience. Reset on a new breath. Re-setting is basically just moving. Perhaps lifting one foot. Whatever it takes to let the audience know you didn’t fall asleep.
Chris taught us a great tag (#99 “The Shadow of your Smile”).
Mary Had a Baby, It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas, Children’s Medley/Jingle Bells (with Ron F on his crazy bells), O Holy Night, Angels We Have Heard on High, Silent Night (Duane solo), Jingle Bell Rock. Star Spangled Banner,409, Daydream, Hello Mary Lou (slowed way down. Chris said “I could actually hear some good chords” – hee hee), Shenandoah, Caroline.
Chuck closed us out on Irish Blessing with our guest in the circle.

- Mike has arranged for many Christmas sing-outs. The dates and locations will be on this newsletter as well as being printed to hand out next Tuesday.
- The Division 4 contest will be the end of April or beginning of May in Salem. We are still awaiting a confirmation date from Bob Cox of the Salem chapter.
- Be sure to register your vacation dates with the TVHM calendar. It’s simple. Just email Duane with it. He’ll get it put in.
- Duane asked the chorus who may be interested in attending a Blazer game. It looked to be close to 25 including wives. Duane will look into ticketing and let us know. He will also inquire about potentially singing the National Anthem.
- Jim mentioned he and Sue were considering doing something for our homeless friend Toby who comes around. An invitation to donate a buck or two for a nominal Christmas gift card or similar was put out to anyone wanting to do so. Let Jim know if this is something you want to help with.
- We’re still looking for a Valentines Chairman. It should be someone who is willing to help organize and can be available during the day of Friday, February 14th to take phone calls as they come in and dispatch to quartets. As it looks now, we have two quartets with another potential quartet being ready to go.
- All are encouraged to drop a coin or two into the coffee can to help offset the cost of coffee and cookies.
- Bring your bottle and cans. We have an account at the local recycling center. A great way for TVHM to make a few bucks.

Penny Arcade sang to around 200 folks at the Singing Hills Christian Church annual Thanksgiving dinner this past Sunday in Hillsboro. Four songs were performed with the entire crowd singing along to It Is Well. Goose bumps were felt.

Please be mindful of those unable to make it to rehearsal. There are many reasons and being sick seems to be one of them. Bummer.
“Sing well and make ‘em laugh”
