Pitch Perfect (Apple version):
itunes.apple.com/us/app/pitch-perfect-digital-pitch/id539417298?mt=8 Pitch Perfect is a utility app for the musically inclined. At its core, it's a digital pitch pipe, allowing musicians to take an initial pitch before beginning or rehearsing a song. If you're a person who struggles to match a key signature to the name of a key, the app provides visual aids to make it as easy as matching what you see on your sheet music with the image on your screen. This app also gives you the ability to play almost any note on a piano keyboard (although some notes are too low or too high to be accurately played on a phone speaker). The Standard Barbershop pitch pipe goes from F below middle C to F above middle C.. In the Pitch Perfect app, be sure to select the "F to E" pitch pipe. This is the same as the "Barbershop pitch pipe except it is missing the F above middle C. |
Pitch Perfect (Android version):

Online 88 key "Piano" Keyboard:
piano-player.info/ This is a full 88 key online piano keyboard played with your mouse. When you hover over a key it shows the key name and frequency (for example middle C is "C4 262 hz"). This keyboard does not allow you to play notes using the keys on your computer keyboard. |

Well known songs to help you learn musical intervals:
https://www.earmaster.com/products/free-tools/interval-song-chart-generator.html Create your own list to memorize intervals A common way to recognize intervals is to associate them with reference songs that you know well. For example, the song Amazing grace begins with a perfect fourth. So when you hear an interval that sounds like the beginning of Amazing Grace, you can quickly conclude that it's a perfect fourth. With one of the pitch pipe apps above, and a personal list of songs to help you get the interval right, you should be able to get your starting note correct every time. |
More songs for interval recognition:
www.people.vcu.edu/~bhammel/theory/new_menu/resources/interval_songs.htm For almost every one of these songs, it is the very first two notes that outline the interval listed. |
